METABUILDING LABS establishes an EU Construction Open Innovation Testbed (OITB), uniting a vast network of testing facilities and innovative services to drive forward new building envelope technologies. The project aims to unlock innovation potential, enhance competitiveness, and amplify the market impact of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the European construction sector. A large consortium of 40 partners has joined forces to provide easy access to high-value testing facilities, including laboratories, test benches, pilot buildings, and Living Labs, enabling stakeholders to develop and test cutting-edge systems and solutions for next-generation buildings. The entry point to the OITB community and its services is the METABUILDING Platform, serving as a Single-Entry Point, offering access to a robust innovation ecosystem spanning more than 100 testing facilities across 12 European countries.
ENoLL plays a pivotal role in METABUILDING LABS, leading workshops to elicit stakeholder requirements for the confirmed demo sites in which the developed technologies will be tested. Leveraging its extensive Living Labs experience, ENoLL refines methodologies and defines best practices for user engagement. Additionally, ENoLL leads tasks on needs assessment and methodology adaptation, while supporting the co-definition of Living Lab needs for the METABUILDING platform’s matchmaking module.
