Prodis Foundation is a non-profit Spanish organisation for the mental disabled people’s welfare and leads the Madrid4Inclusion Living Lab, an important space for ICT innovation in inclusion sector. Along with technological partner Ariadna Servicios Informáticos, this Living Lab is working for the ICT application in areas such as formation and work integration for people with intellectual disabilities. Prodis Foundation provides the end user vision in inclusion scenarios where ICT can be used to substantially improve the quality of life of this group.


Prodis Foundation implemented a teaching program for the work integration of mental disabled people called PROMENTOR. PROMENTOR Program has several subjects tending to develop emotional and technical skills such as Bank and documentation, Archive and organization, New technologies, Calculation and accounting or Thinking strategies.Prodis Foundation works to achieve the compromise of potential companies in which the students can be work integrated. Once the new worker starts his tasks, Prodis’ specialized personnel provide him an intensive coaching to adapt the acquired general skills to specialized and context dependent ones. After the coaching stage, a labour mediator keeps in touch with the worker in case is needed his intervention in order to resolve any emotional or technical conflict. Once a week, the workers attend to follow-up meetings with Prodis’ personnel and their ex study fellows.Madrid4Inclusion Living Lab aims to provide suitable technological solutions for work integration and teaching of people with intellectual disabilities.

In Madrid4Inclusion Living Lab we're using (or planning to use) several technologies to improve the teaching/learning experience of people with intellectual disabilities. Some of them are:

Regarding the use of ICT for Work Inclusion we're are working in:

- Technologies for internal and ubiquitous localization: Can help the worker in the mail delivery around the company’s building

- e-Learning facilities: Can help people to get along with the difficult aspects of their diary tasks.

- Semi automated document management: Can facilitate the tasks involving documents and files.

Madrid4Inclusion is part of several Spanish R&D projects:

AMI4INCLUSION: A RFID System for auto evaluation of exercises has been developed in order to improve the learning experience of students in archive and organization tasks, CISVI: A mobile video conference system has been deployed in order to help specialized personnel in the emotional conflicts resolution involving integrated workers in their jobs.eduWAI: An educational system for teaching how to improve the emotional skills of people with Intellectual disabilities has been developed.
