As the first lab in the field of user behaviour in China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC for short),  Lab for User Behavior(LUB for short) aims at precision marketing and  improving the user experience of the CMCC products and services of through conducting research in the field of user behaviour, psychology, data mining, social network analysis, human factors, human machine interaction, interaction and graphical design, etc..

13 professional researchers and 5 part-time interns, head-mounted and table-based high-speed eye trackers,  powerful behaviour-analysis platform, with more than 100,000 mobile users panel , online survey platform with 20 questionnaire template covering multiple mobile business fields, multiple data collecting methodsincluding internet/wap/SMS/client, independently development user behavior analysis system including the modules of data cleaning/data mining/social network analysis/text mining/web mining/personalized recommendation, all of those enable LUB to stand at the frontier of user behaviour study of mobile communications.   The mission of LUB is to serve the CMCC interest in product development, precision marketing, service innovation and research by involving users in the whole cycle of product and service development. User- centered design has been always the philosophy of LUB. User play a key role in defining requirement and target users, creating use cases, designing concept and prototype, getting feedback of products and services on market, etc..

References and Track Record

Ophone ,Mobee, mobile TV etc, a lot of influential products of CMCC was born in this lab. The related user study activities include user requirement analysis, usability testing of prototype, updating product via collecting feedback from users.
